Founder's note.

Varun Mittal started Assurion because mid-market companies were paying Big 4 prices for work that didn't require Big 4 overhead.

He holds a Fellowship of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI), a US CPA license, and CISA certification. Over the past decade, he has led actuarial engagements across insurance, pension, and employee benefits. His team has modeled on GGY Axis, Prophet, and Python, delivered IFRS 17 implementations for multinational insurers, and supported SOC 2 attestations for technology companies on three continents.

The founding idea was simple: compliance work should be done by people who understand the underlying business, not by generalists working off checklists.
